Roaster notes
This is probably the most delicious coffee we have purchased from Bolivia. Geisha is considered a rare variety, even though it can be found among many coffee-producing countries these days. However, the Geisha coffee from Los Rodriguez has a curious story.\n\nGeisha became very popular through La Hacienda Esmeralda in Panama in the early 2000s. The farm rediscovered this variety of Arabica coffee, and even though the origin of this variety is Ethiopia, Geisha coffee is always associated with Central American countries.\n\nIn 2004, La Hacienda Esmeralda entered this variety into a competition titled 'Best of Panama' and they won. Subsequently, the coffee was put into auction and set a record price, consequently making the Geisha variety one of the most desirable and expensive coffees.\n\nWhat's curious about the Los Rodriguez Geisha variety is its origin. Pedro Rodriguez became good friends with the La Hacienda Esmeralda family who kindly gifted him their Geisha seeds. Pedro then began cultivating it on his estates in Bolivia and achieved amazing results.\n\nGeisha is well-known for its aromatic and fruity characteristics, and it's also a very complex coffee. We are happy to share it with you all.
Roaster
Notes Coffee Roasters hit all the right ones. As their motto says: “High Grade, Sourced at Origin, Lovingly Roasted in East London!” What more could you ask for? Notes Coffee Roasters aren't your typical roastery. They only work with single origin coffee and never dabble in blends. This means their portfolio of coffees are singular, are the efforts of hard working farmers at origin are rewarded. Expect delicate coffees and myriad of flavours, and know that your morning brew is helping contribute to the maintenance and continued improvement of harvest at source. Now that’s something we hear (and taste) on repeat.
