Roaster Notes
La Prosperidad de Chirinos is a cooperative founded in 1968 in Peru s San Ignacio province, within the Cajamarca growing region. Chirinos provides each of its 700 producers with an experienced agronomist and uses an innovative composting system called gaichashi to produce high-quality organic compost without pesticides. The cooperative was the first in Peru to earn Regenerative Organic Certified® status.
Today, Equator coffee roasters operate seven retail cafes in the San Francisco Bay Area and has an expanding national wholesale business with partners including Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, The Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, Williams Sonoma, Whole Foods, Joie de Vivre Hospitality, The Wing and We Work. For the last 15 years in a row, Equator has remained on The San Francisco Business Times’ list of the Top 100 Women-Owned Businesses and was the first LGBTQ Certified business to win the National SBA Small Business of the Year.
