Roaster Notes
Sourced for many years from the slopes of Mount Kenya, this coffee brings together smallholder farmers from the Nyeri and Kirinyaga regions, where altitude, climate, and soil converge to create ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. Kenya s unique auction system rewards excellence, and our partners at Taylor Winch Coffee in Nairobi select and blend specific lots to create a profile marked by juicy acidity and vibrant fruit character.
Today, Equator coffee roasters operate seven retail cafes in the San Francisco Bay Area and has an expanding national wholesale business with partners including Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, The Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, Williams Sonoma, Whole Foods, Joie de Vivre Hospitality, The Wing and We Work. For the last 15 years in a row, Equator has remained on The San Francisco Business Times’ list of the Top 100 Women-Owned Businesses and was the first LGBTQ Certified business to win the National SBA Small Business of the Year.
