From deconstructed lattes to delicious pour overs, Coffee Project NY started life championing the skill of their baristas and connecting with their East Village community over a love for coffee. Five years and two locations later, Coffee Project NY’s roastery boasts three different purpose-built roasters to best share their coffee far and wide. Not only that, owner Chi Sum Ngai is a certified Q grader and roasting championship competitor, and personally oversees the company’s roasting program. Coffee Project NY sources their high-grade coffees from all over the world and favors coffees with a social conscience - many come from small scale cooperatives and family farms who focus on improving work conditions and benefits for farm workers. After all, the Coffee Project NY mission statement is to improve the quality of life for every person in the coffee supply chain from producers to consumers. Their goal is to share their passion for coffee not only with the East Village, or New York City, but with the world.
