Square One Coffee Roasters are an award-winning micro-roaster based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The family-owned business has spent the last 16 years roasting and serving some of the highest quality coffee in the world. 

Portola Coffee Roasters is the brainchild of owner and roastmaster Jeff Duggan and his wife Christa. Founded on the belief that you can get a delicious cup of coffee quickly, they focused on the science behind coffee to make sure each coffee offered is crafted to perfection. Over the years, they've moved from their shop in Costa Mesa to multiple locations around Orange County and Long Beach. Portola Coffee Roasters use some of the highest quality coffee beans from farms in Central and South America and Africa. Dedicated to creating relationships with the farms they partner with, their goal is to bridge the disconnect between farmers and the customers that drink the coffee to make coffee more than just a way to wake up, but an experience that lasts every time.

Creativity, Kindness and Coffee. Say it out loud. It's a little spell that Brandywine coffee roasters like to cast every morning at their roasting and printing operation hidden in Wilmington, Delaware. That's right - these roasters also boast screen printing facilities and are a hub for local art and culture, which go hand-in-hand with great, responsibly sourced coffee. Each hand-printed bag features a custom illustration from local Delaware artist Todd Purse, helping to emphasise that each coffee Brandywine release is a work of art living within another work of art.

Ladro has always valued sustainably and ethically produced coffee, adopting a 'fair trade only' since 2000. Around 2011 they launched Ladro Roasting, which opened up the ability to source green coffee through direct relationships and reach a country-wide customer base.

By 2012, they were crowned the prestigious Micro-Roaster of The Year award by Roast Magazine, honoring their commitment to excellence, sustainability and quality. Nowadays Bird Rock continues to grow their range of sustainable relationships with farming partners at origin, paying fair prices and collaborating on long-term goals together. BRCR's slogan "Empowered by Great Coffee" underpins their motivation and inspiration by the many hands that touch each coffee — from the farm workers at origin to the baristas in your own kitchen.

Airship coffee roasters' story started in 2008 through agricultural work in Central America, which led to importing green coffee from farmers and connecting with roasters nationwide. Curiosity got the best of them, and from there the team fell in love with roasting. Thanks to their experience in sourcing, Airship has been able to build long-standing relationships with folks growing some of the best coffee in the world.  

Airship currently operate two bustling cafes in Bentonville, Arkansas. There's a neighborhood hangout at the 5th Street coffee bar and a one-of-a-kind, open-air cafe in the woods at their Coler Preserve location.

Coffee Manufactory aims to make the world a little smaller by bringing coffee drinkers closer to farms, farms closer to roasters, roasters closer to baristas and so on. They understand the importance of maintaining the human element of these relationships, not only the shiny marketing that commodifies such a special product. They envisage a future steeped in good, balanced and clean values, both in the cup and their relationships.

After being laid off their jobs in the midst of the late-2000's economic downturn, Julia Mayer and Todd Stewart took the plunge and opened a cafe named 'The French Press' on State St, Santa Barbara. They felt that their community deserved a special place to enjoy delicious coffee, and their optimism and hard work paid off. After a few short years, they were opening more locations and were operating at a scale where they could source and roast their own coffee! By 2016, they reinvented themselves as Dune Coffee Roasters, and remain at the forefront of delicious coffee... even taking out second place at the United States Barista Championship in 2018 and 2020!

What started as a garage project now is a dedicated facility in the North Idaho Panhandle, where the community of DOMA is enlivened by artists, thinkers and outdoor enthusiasts, and the team put love and care into everything from packaging and artwork to traveling directly to origin to better understand their coffee at its source. There's no magic formula here other than hard work, endless passion, and a down-to-earth approach to chasing quality at every turn. DOMA contribute to communities both local and abroad through philanthropy and outreach, but Terry and Rebecca keep it real, still out there every morning preparing their brew on a hand grinder.

They took a pioneering approach to sourcing coffee through a relationship model, placing emphasis on direct trade as a way to support thriving livelihoods for producers at origin. They earned Roast Magazine's prestigious 'Roaster of the Year' award in 2013, are home to the first barista union in the USA and are currently transitioning to a worker-owned company. Gimme! Coffee roasts all their coffee on two Probat drum-style roasters at their facility in Ithaca, NY.

Methodical Coffee opened their cafe in 2015 in Greenville, South Carolina with pennies in the bank. Luckily, their first day of trade saw a line out the door that stayed there until closing time – popularity hasn't waned since! They claim their success is based on three pillars: exceptional product, customer service and experience. Their roasting operation began in 2016 and strives to bring the same quality, service and experience to all their customers.

Cuvée coffee started tinkering with the status-quo in 1998, when they began building their own direct trade network to ensure consistent access to high-quality coffee. From there they built a world-class lab in Austin, TX, where their roasting craft was honed to enhance each unique coffee to the best of its potential. Counter Culture Coffee, established in 1995, has expanded from a modest roastery in Durham, NC, to the leading independent roaster, with 2 Roasteries and 12 Training Centers nationwide. CCC's ethos centers on the relentless pursuit of coffee perfection, genuine environmental, social, and fiscal sustainability, and the cultivation of cutting-edge coffee people. CCC fosters partnerships with growers globally, prioritizing quality and transparency. 

After almost 30 years in the biz, PT's coffee stays on track by asking the same question: "is our coffee the best it can be?" This guides their judgement and motivates them every day to succeed on their own terms, rather than anyone else's. Founders Jeff Taylor and Fred Polzin began in 1993 and after establishing two retail locations began sourcing their own green coffee and roasting it in-house. Now almost 80% of their coffee is procured through a Direct Trade program, striving for long-lasting relationships with environmentally conscious producers at origin. They were named Roaster of the Year by Roast Magazine in 2009 still receive plenty of accolades for their dozens of blends and single origins.

Black & White coffee roasters operate three cafes and a roastery with the aim to provide amazing hospitality to guests and employees while creating a sustainable livelihood for producers and to pursue excellence in all things, especially in coffee quality. Specialized menu's that focus on both the classic blends and on rare, remarkable coffee varietals and processes for a more modern espresso adventure.  

The company was founded by Jared and Deanna Linzmeier as a small roasting operation, built out of the spare room of Jared's childhood home. Thanks to Jared's extensive experience in roasting and sourcing coffee for some the industries best, Ruby coffee has quickly gained a reputation for quality. They're known for showcasing complex and dynamic lots of coffee from small farms that were either sourced directly or through small like-minded import/export companies. They also place a strong emphasis on accessibility, choosing to roast their coffees to optimal flavor and sweetness with ease of brewing in mind.

They say that one question was asked over and over by farmers and exporters during their travels: "What will it take for you to buy more of my crop?" The answer was, this! A roastery aiming to bridge the gap between prices paid for ultra-premium boutique lots and the vast majority of coffee from any given harvest. By doing so, Necessary Coffee are making good quality approachable for everyday enjoyment, and ensuring viable business for producers. 

Verve came to be through the serendipitous union of surf, sweat and a love of life and living. In 2007, founders Ryan and Colby built and opened the first Verve cafe on 41st Ave in Santa Cruz, California. Today, Verve has locations in cities from Los Angeles to San Francisco to Japan, with roots remaining planted in Santa Cruz, where they roast coffee on vintage roasters and enjoy the endless surf of the rugged Californian coast.

Kuma, meaning 'bear' in Japanese, was inspired and named after both the founder's bear-like shaggy dog and a visit to Japan. It began in 2008 as a garage roastery in Seattle, then quickly grew to nationwide recognition. Kuma's continued keeping its operation intentionally small, in order to remain fully focused on quality and deliciousness. Kuma purchases the majority of their seasonal coffees direct from origin, paying a premium to farmers well above the commodity or fair trade thresholds.

Today, Equator coffee roasters operate seven retail cafes in the San Francisco Bay Area and has an expanding national wholesale business with partners including Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, The Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, Williams Sonoma, Whole Foods, Joie de Vivre Hospitality, The Wing and We Work. Klatch Coffees Roasters were born as a result of nurturing relationships with the farmers who grow the beans. Klatch believe that the art of their coffee begins right where the seeds are planted. That's why green buyer and roastmaster Mike Perry travels the globe to get the earliest possible look and taste of the results from each harvest. Klatch's commitment to honest business practices means building trust and loyalty with the farmers they work with. All of this is accomplished through a Direct Trade model and a simple handshake. Proud Mary was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2009. The husband-wife duo, Nolan and Shari Hirte sought to offer products and services to improve your day, setting an industry wide standard in sourcing, roasting and preparation of delicious coffee. It's the heart of what they do placing Proud Mary in a uniquely wonderful space of exceptional ingredients and thoughtful service. 

Roasting all coffee in Brooklyn NY and shipping to 50 locations across North America, Bluestone Lane is committed to changing people’s perceptions of coffee – that means greater emphasis on the coffee's flavor experience and less about addressing a need for caffeine. Bluestone Lane Coffee are focused on turning locals into connoisseurs, fastidious about the quality of coffee they consume and the way it’s served. Since its birth in 2007 to this day Quill's holds fast to its original goal of creating the perfect blend of fine coffee and southern hospitality — excuse the pun. It's built relationships with international coffee producers to bring passion and education to its local community and beyond. Quills sources, roasts, brews and serves excellent coffee to it's cafe patrons from Louisville to Indianapolis and now your kitchen nook.

Since 2005, Wonderstate Coffee has been roasting spectacular coffees that spark connections, inspire curiosity, and build integrity across communities. Deeper Roots has been roasting since 2011 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their focus lies on equitable, long term relationships with growers, bringing their stories to the front and centre of releasing and marketing their coffees. 

Boon Boona coffee are committed to sharing the unique coffee traditions of Africa. Founder and CEO Efrem Fesaha is from an Eritrean family but grew up in Seattle and used his understanding of the two vastly different cultures to make is mark on the coffee industry. After his initial business plan to open an East African coffee shop was rejected by banks, he remained persistent and in 2011 began importing quality green coffee directly from Ethiopia instead. Over the years word spread through the community, then Efrem began receiving requests for roasted beans, so he experimented and the Boon Boona Roastery and Cafe was born.

Temple Coffee Roasters are a quality-focused roaster from Sacramento, California. They source their coffee directly from producers and believe each individual coffee deserves its own approach. They customise tailored roast profiles to best showcase the distinctive qualities of each new lot that comes through the doors. Temple's sourcing and roasting team believe's great coffee is no accident and strive to reach the pinnacle of flavor and aroma for every coffee, with every roast, every time.

Olympia Coffee Roasters humble beginnings started in 2005 as a wholesale coffee roaster living by the philosophy "We exist to improve the quality of life for coffee farmers, for our staff and for our customers". Olympia coffee founders Sam & Oliver believe coffee of today has the potential to be better than at any point in history primarily as a result of better relationships and communication throughout the coffee chain. This allows them to understand and control the variables that contribute to the flavors and overall quality of a coffee.

Zoka Coffee Roasters opened their doors in 1996 and have been serving freshly roasted beans and espresso beverages in their coffeehouses ever since. They're based in Seattle and are still owned and operated by Jeff Babcock, a person who spent 13 years touring the world as a Cup of Excellence judge. This reputation is the advantage sets the Zoka's coffee offering apart, as sourcing many of the quality lots is made possible through the strong relationships forged during Jeff's career. All roasting takes place in Bellingham on a 1963 PROBAT cast iron coffee roaster and all bags are hand-packed and dated to give customers full confidence in their coffee's quality.
